Coordinator:
Multi-stakeholder Policy Dialogue
Salary: ZAR353,629 – 409,370 total cost entry level
3-year contract post based in Midrand, South Africa

The Southern Africa Trust is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and skilled coordinator to develop a sustained practice of multi-stakeholder development policy engagement between civil society organizations, businesses, government, donors and others interest groups in southern Africa.

You will develop the Trust’s analysis, learning, and strategies for multi-stakeholder approaches to policy development in close cooperation with other programme areas of the Trust. You will regularly organize and facilitate multi-stakeholder policy dialogue events on key policy issues as they emerge from the Trust’s research portfolio, develop targeted linkages with interest groups that do not customarily participate in multi-stakeholder policy dialogue processes in southern Africa, especially business agencies, and build and maintain collaborative relationships with a network of key researchers, opinion makers, policy makers, civil society leaders, and business leaders in the region. You will identify and develop joint policy dialogue platforms with key strategic partner organizations and facilitate consultation with diverse interest groups to contribute substantively to the conceptualization and formulation of policy papers and technical analysis on behalf of the Trust and provide advisory support to the Trust’s strategic direction and other programme areas from a multi-stakeholder policy dialogue perspective.

You have a relevant postgraduate degree or a minimum of five years related experience. You have excellent communication skills, strong networking and organizing skills, and proven research and writing skills. You are a strategic thinker who is familiar with the southern Africa region, especially the nature of civil society organization, development policy processes, and institutional architecture in the region. Competence in French and/or Portuguese will be a strong advantage.
