Building Effective Mechanisms for Civil Society Engagement with Pan African and Regional Institutions

The President of the Pan African Parliament, Hon. Dr. Getrude Mongella will address the African civil society organisations’ on the margins of the 7th Ordinary Session of the PAP. There will be a question and answer session after the address.

The purpose of the 1st consultative dialogue between and among African CSOs and the Pan African Parliament is to initiate a sustained dialogue on current issues pertinent to African development.   The meeting will also enable CSOs and the Pan African Parliament to consider proposals for deepening and sustaining the consultative dialogue including the creation of a civil society desk within the Pan African Parliament.  The meeting will also give civil society organisations the opportunity to reflect on the African Union Government in preparation for the African Union Summit in June 2007 in Accra, Ghana, and in line with the theme of the 7th ordinary session of the Pan African Parliament.
